The below is for illustrative and design purposes. Placement of items will likely be different depending on stockists.
I don't tend to sketch on paper. I imagine the shapes then take to photoshop.
Simple triangle shelf design with dimensions.
Pylon structure design. The black dots represent drilled holes. String with be laced through to create the pylon shapes.
How this design might look in the windows.
I really love this but I do have concerns re the structural integrity and safety.
Window Stickers.
This represent the wire triangle idea. This would be quite abstract and perhaps not the best for display.
The wire I used for these was the end of a small roll so uncooperative. The idea still worked in principle.
Using much better wire I made larger triangles. I loved the way these looked but upon testing with even the smallest amount of weight the shapes buckled.
I have discounted the floating triangle idea for the window display, it's too abstract. I am experimenting the structure as a display idea.
Scale frontage mock up pre designs.
Pre stock mock.
Probably my favourite. Simple, effective and practical.
Tried a different colour on the type but I prefer the black on pink, more striking.
In order to create the simple but structurally stable triangle I used hinges. I had expected to use nails but quickly realised this would mean I would have to use thinker wood which would be more expensive. Thinking about the angles required I thought approach it like you would a door.
By cutting simple slots at equal distances and sliding the wood through we not only get a great pylonesque shape but the structural integrity is improved.
The shelves are really secure and offer plenty of space for multiple product to be displayed.
Too cool for school!
I love this. I fear that it may have crossed the pylon line though.
The wood is quite thin so I had to keep the parts to be cut out to a minimum.
Once brackets were secured at the base it becomes surprisingly rigid.
I tested with silver despite having doubts re brand colours. I love it.
Used pink string to create the pylony tringles, like lacing a shoe.
Decided to repaint pink to keep it on brand, regretting immediately, nearly cried. I very much doubt a structure like this will end up in the window but I think this will make an excellent on street sign for which the pink will work better.
Mock up of the sign for outside the shop. I'm going to change the colour of the lacing to tie in.
Changed the lacing and I am in love with it.
Hello!
A local artist is going to add typography and I'm going to add wheels. Finished.
What a sexy babe!
A big thank you to to @ellietype for her brilliant sign writing skills.
The design hasn't changed as I was really happy with how the smaller one turned out. These ones will fill the whole window.
Just reqiring a coat of paint. The colour scheme with be toned down so as to show off the prints etc. which will be displayed.
What a joy to have giant pylons in my garden.
Majestic!
The is rope tied/placed to create pylon shapes, products can be clipped on.
Cute but not my favourite.
Window Stickers. Would make life easy.
